The two-second rule generally provides the minimum distance which gives you enough time to react to things and also to take action if something was to happen ahead. Three or more seconds can turn out to be even better and there are some locations that at least require a three-second distance.
There are many training programs arranged for different vehicle types like LGV Cat C Training for Cat C vehicles, and HGV C+E Training for the vehicles that require a C+E licence before you board onto driving those vehicles legally. This is major to ensure safety.
